American Airlines reveals its mobile website

The US airline company chooses .com instead .mobi to enhance its mobile web services. With 1.6 million visits on www.aa.com each day, the company opted to exploit the popularity of its website and the easiness of typing and memorizing its domain name. Indeed, aa.com is much more customer-friendly than the registered domain americanairlines.mobi! Moreover, .mobi does not allow registration of one and two letter domains. Over 500,000 .mobi domain names registered!

cell_phoneDotMobi announced that more than 500,000 .mobi have been registered since its commercial launch (see .mobi opening). According to the registry, .mobi is now covering 104 countries. This tendancy illustrates the growing demand for made-for-mobile content.
